Queensland ClimateSmart 2050

Brief description:

In June 2007, Queensland's government released its ClimateSmart 2050 strategy, which contained several Smart Energy Policy initiatives to help the state meet its defined climate change goals. The strategy aims to encourage the energy sector to invest in new technologies and maximise energy conservation in the state's businesses and homes. The Smart Energy Policy has ten areas of operation, including $900 million investment in demonstrating clean coal technology.
