ConocoPhillips is the fifth largest private energy corporation in the world. It resulted from the merger of Conoco Inc and Phillips Petroleum Company in 2002. Based in Texas, the company operates worldwide with assets and businesses in almost 30 countries. It markets fuel under the brands Conoco, Phillips 66 and Union 76 in North America, and Jet in Europe. It has around 29,900 employees worldwide and assets of $155 billion. One of the world's six supermajors, the company is involved in E&P, including LNG, transportation and the marketing of crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids and bitumen worldwide. Its producing areas include the US, Norway, the UK, Canada, Australia, the Timor Sea, Indonesia, China, Vietnam, Libya, Nigeria, Algeria and Russia.
