Itabirito bottling plant
Brief description:
Facts:
Itabirito bottling plant Denmark’s Union Engineering is supplying a CO2 capture plant to Air Liquide Brazil as part of a deal to supply global soft drinks company, Coca-Cola, with CO2 for its new bottling plant in Itabirito, in Minas Gerais state, Brazil.
The long-term “built-operate-transfer” contract between Coca-Cola and Air Liquide will combine on-site production of electricity and CO2, which will be captured from the flue gases of the power generating facility and purified for use in soft drinks manufacturing. The project aims to be self-sufficient in order to ensure a reliable supply of CO2 and reduce logistical costs.
The project was launched in 2011, and the plant is expected to be completed in 2013.
