CO2 reductions within the industry sector will be necessary to establish a sustainable and competitive industry sector in Europe. There is no easy fix to cut emissions from processing industries. A large part of the greenhouse gas emissions from industries are not caused by energy use that can be replaced by renewables or removed in other ways. Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is a technology which has the potential to give significant reductions in CO2 emissions, given a sound and lasting financial and political framework.
Among the speakers are: Juho Lipponen, Head of CCS Unit, IEA, Robert Finley ISG Project at Decatur, Illinois USA, Dr. Jörg Rothermel, Association of the German Chemical Industry, Sigve Apeland, Gassco and Hauke Hermann, Öko-institut
In the panel-discussion are, among others: Dr. Peer Hoth, BMWi, Dr. Jörg Rothermel and Marius Gjerset, ZERO
