Indian Farmers Fertiliser Co-Operative

Brief description:

Indian Farmers Fertiliser Co-Operative (IFFCO) is one of India's leading producers of agricultural products, in a country which is striving to increase foodgrain production. It was established in 1967 as a multi-unit co-operative society and today comprises 39,824 individual co-operative societies. IFFCO operates chemical production plants at Kalol and Kandla in the state of Gujarat, Phulpur and Aonla in Uttar Pradesh, and at Paradeep in Orissa - all of which have undergone major expansion programmes in recent years. IFFCO's annual capacity is 3.69 million tonnes of urea and the equivalent of 1.71Mt of NPK/DAP, a source of crop nutrients.
