Brief description:

The Fundación Ciudad de la Energía (CIUDEN) is the leading public developer of CO2 capture, transport and geological storage technologies in Spain. Its Technology Development Centre for CO2 Capture in León, in north west Spain is testing injection and monitoring techniques for supercritical CO2 in the underground structure at Hontomín.

CIUDEN also has links with other research centres internationally and currently has contracts with the EU Commission under the Seventh Framework Programme and the European Energy Programme for Recovery for several major development projects. More details here.
