CCRL - Consumers' Co-operative Refineries Limited

Consumers' Co-operative Refineries Limited (CCRL) was the world's first co-operatively owned refinery, set up in 1934. It is based in Regina, Saskatchewan, in Canada. Since 1944 it has operated as a subsidiary of the Federated Co-operatives Limited. Its aim is to supply local co-operative associations with petroleum products through the Co-operative Retailing System. CCRL owns and operates the refinery facilities and the NewGrade Energy Upgrader. The refinery has undergone several major revamps, with the most recent due for completion in 2012.
